About Us
Our Story
Turtle Learn's journey began in 2022, originally as a social responsibility pilot project in collaboration with the Hong Kong Education University's Institute for Special Needs and Inclusive Education (ISNIE). We combined traditional teaching theories with cutting-edge technology to develop a series of products that help children learn Chinese. The 'turtle' in our name comes from the fable 'The Tortoise and the Hare,' symbolizing that learning is not about who wins at the starting line, but about who perseveres and achieves satisfying results. As of 2024, Turtle Learn was officially established, continuing our commitment to providing tailored learning solutions through technological innovation.
Why "Turtle Learn"? — The Pull and Push of Learning
The Pull of Learning
Teachers and parents all feel it: when students are constantly pulled forward under pressure, learning rarely lasts. But ease off the pull, and worries about progress and grades creep right back in. This tug-of-war plays out every single day.
The Push of Learning
"Turtle" stands for a steady push. It makes learning feel clear, gives it a manageable rhythm, and turns it into something students actually want — not just something they have to do. "Learn" is the journey. Truly understanding something is never about one giant leap, one exam, or one performance — it relies on comprehension, method, and steady reflection.
Grades and Skills
Deep down, we all know the difference: some knowledge is held up by rote memorisation — grades may be achieved, but it fades quickly after the exam. Some skills, however, are learned joyfully and deliver great results — like riding a bike. Even years without practice, the skill stays with you forever.
What Turtle Learn does is simple: let grades and skills coexist, rather than forcing a choice between them.
Our Products
Our products have undergone rigorous user testing and received widespread recognition from parents and educators. In particular, the Chinese learning series 'Touring Turtle: A Chinese Adventure' was developed in accordance with Hong Kong's authoritative Chinese curriculum and in collaboration with the Education University of Hong Kong.
